Harbor Cruise

This pleasant and most entertaining cruise lasts one and a half hours and is the best way to savor the experience and way of life in this small fisherman's community which was at one time the Seafood Capitol of the U.S. - at the turn of the century.

Mississippi River Plantation Tour

Let your imagination wander as you go back in history to a period of the fabled "Gone with the Wind."

Imagine the opulence and grandeur of the 1840's and 1850's as you marvel at the beauty of the historic plantation houses along the Great River Road. From the Mississippi River's Edge look down an alley of 250 year old live oaks and see the breath-taking beauty of Oak Ally built in 1837 by Jacque Telespore Roman, a wealthy French sugar cane planter.

Enjoy the magnificence of St. Frusquin, meaning "one's all" now called San Francisco after the Plantation Foundation which owns it. Built in 1854 by a wealthy planter, Edward Bozonier Marmillion, San Francisco was one of the most costly mansions of its day. Much of the mill work is marked with the initials "EBM" on the back, indication the work and materials came form the Marmillion Plantation and its own mills; customary practices for that era.

Bellingrath Gardens and Home

Almost unbelievable in its beauty and grandeur is the Bellingrath Mansion, just one hour east of the Mississippi Gulf Coast. The Bellingrath-More Foundation established by the late Walter D. Bellingrath is a non-profit organization, dedicated to its founder's belief in the importance of "the spiritual life" as a fundamental part of the educational process.

The visitor's Lounge houses one of the world's largest public exhibits of porcelain sculptures by Edward Marshall Boehm. The formal dining room of the Bellingrath Mansion has been called by many, "The most beautiful room in America." While the gardens are a burst of colors year round, the azalea gardens in the spring are a breath-taking experience. The entire garden area is a bird sanctuary. over 200 species of birds are known to inhabit the gardens. Flamingos, geese, swans, squirrels and deer are common sights in this modern day Garden of Eden.

Mississippi Gulf Coast Tour

Enjoy the beauty of the Old South as you tour the Mississippi Gulf Coast along the picturesque Old Spanish Trail. The ancient oaks, the Spanish moss, the magnificent old homes and mansions along the coast will take you back to an era of grandeur and elegance.

At two of the elegantly restored mansions - Historic Beauvoir, last home of Jefferson Davis and Tullis Toledano Manor - you'll be a guest. Walk among the magnificent oaks and behold the tranquilizing experience of the beautiful Gulf of Mexico as its soft breezes carry you back to the days of the plantation style of living.

Relive the history of the development of the deep South as you tour the area where the French settlement of the Louisiana Territory began in 1699 - along the Mississippi Gulf Coast. America's Cote' Azur.

New Orleans and The French Quarter

Touring was never more fun nor enlightening as when you enjoy the merriment and beauty of Old New Orleans. Relive the early history of the French and Spanish development of this fascinating city.

From the old world charm and romance of the Vieux Carre (Old Square) and the magnificent mid-19th century mansions throughout the Garden District you go to the spectacular and exciting architecture of the modern day homes along beautiful Lake Shore Drive overlooking historic Lake Ponchartrain. You'll see everything that is New Orleans, and you'll love it all.

Experience and feel the history and antiquity of the French Quarter. Walk down Pirate's Alley where Jean Lafitte and his pirate rogues sipped absinthe in dimly lit cabarets of the old city.

Enjoy Cafe Au Lait and Beignets ( coffee and doughnuts) at a sidewalk cafe overlooking historic Jackson Square as you watch painters and artists doing their portraits and landscapes. You'll think you were in Paris. And, finally, behold the treasures of the past as you visit the beautiful antique shops along Rue Royale while you visit the city that care forgot.
